This cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course includes the theoretical and practical components to meet the skills and knowledge required to provide CPR in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
Participants will gain the following skills and knowledge:
- Legal, workplace and community considerations
- Emergency response procedures
- Assessing risks and hazards
- CPR procedures and techniques
- Performing CPR in line with ARC guidelines
- Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Training and assessment is conducted at Site Skills Training facilities. Upon arrangement, training and assessment can be conducted at the premises of industry clients providing there are suitable industry training facilities.

This course is suitable for those who are required to undertake initial CPR certification or annual CPR refresher training. This course meets the requirement for annual CPR refresher training.
A basic to moderate English language, literacy and numeracy skill level is required.
All participants are required to wear the following minimum PPE to enter our facilities:
- Fully enclosed shoes (steel-capped boots preferred)
- Long-sleeve shirt with high visibility
- Long work pants
Additional PPE may be required depending on the course requirements.
Upon successful completion of this course, a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the following unit of competency will be issued:
HLTAID009 | Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation |
The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that refresher training is done every twelve (12) months.
