Overview

The RII30920 Certificate III in Civil Construction (General) is suitable for those already working as, or are seeking to become a skilled operator working in civil construction. This role applies a broad range of skills in varied work contexts, using some discretion and judgement and relevant theoretical knowledge. Persons in this role may provide theoretical advice and support a team.

Site Skills and Competency Training’s course utilises various delivery methods depending on your circumstances. Please note that training and assessment in this qualification require access to facilities and equipment in a relevant work environment and/or simulated work environment.

Participants undertaking this qualification are provided options to allow them to complete their training in a format and timeframe most appropriate to their previous experience and qualifications.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, but a moderate English language, literacy and numeracy skill level is recommended. Participants will undertake a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) assessment prior to enrolment to identify any educational support needs.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Please enquire regarding the availability of RPL.

 

To be awarded the RII30920 Certificate III in Civil Construction (General) qualification, participants must achieve competency in fourteen (14) units of competency, consisting of:

  • Ten (10) core units, and
  • Four (4) elective units

CPCCLSF2001 Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding basic level  Core
CPCCLSF3001* Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding intermediate level  Core
CPCCOM1012 Work effectively and sustainably in the construction industry  Core
CPCCOM1013 Plan and organise work  Core
CPCCOM1014 Conduct workplace communication  Core
CPCCOM1015 Carry out measurements and calculations Core
CPCCOM2001* Read and interpret plans and specifications Core
CPCCSC2001* Handle and position scaffolding tools, equipment and components Core
CPCCCM2006 Apply basic levelling procedures Core
CPCCWHS2001 Apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry Core
