Overview

White Card is a mandatory work health and safety training requirement for anyone who intends to work in the construction industry or enter an active work site in the infrastructure, resources and construction industries. Those working in ‘construction’ trade positions whether full-time or contracting are required to hold a White Card and have it in their possession while on site.
This White Card course includes the theoretical and practical components on how to keep yourself and others safe while working on a construction site, and completion of this course is a pre-requisite to receiving a White Card (also known as General Construction Induction Card or a Construction Induction Card depending on your state or territory).
Participants will gain the following skills and knowledge:

  • Common hazards
  • Roles, responsibilities and obligations
  • Safe work practices
  • Risk management principles
  • Safety signage
  • Personal protective equipment
  • Legislative requirements

Training and assessment must be conducted face-to-face* at Site Skills Training facilities. Upon arrangement, training and assessment can be conducted at the premises of industry clients providing there are suitable industry training facilities and must be conducted via face-to-face delivery.

* Site Skills Training only delivers this course in face-to-face delivery mode. Under White Card delivery requirements, delivery in Queensland must be undertaken face-to-face except where students reside in a rural area (defined as a distance of 100 kilometres or more from any RTO offering face-to-face delivery of CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry). In this case, students may receive connected real-time delivery.

The trainers at site skills were very knowledgeable and worked with the guys that were finding it hard. We had Kurt and he was very hands on and took his time to explain and go through parts that seem difficult at first but got easier as we kept doing the revision. Top notch.
