The MEM30219 Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade qualification is intended for the role of an engineering tradesperson – mechanical within metal, engineering, meanufacturing and associated industries. The qualification is specifically developed for apprentices in these trades, and must be undertaken through a formal training contract.
Training and assessment in this qualification requires access to facilities and equipment in a relevant work environment. Participants are therefore required to be currently employed in such an environment, and in a formal training contract with access available for training and assessment to be conducted at the workplace.

Entry Requirements
There are no entry requirements for this qualification, but a moderate to advanced English language, literacy and numeracy skill level is recommended. Participants will undertake a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) assessment prior to enrolment to identify any educational support needs.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
RPL may be available for participants with previous industry experience.
To be awarded the MEM30219 Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade qualification, participants must achieve competency to the value of ninety-six (96) points, consisting of:
- Core units totalling thirty-three (33) points, and
- Elective units to bring the total value to ninety-six (96) points.
